Your password can be changed for security reasons or it can be reset if you forget it. Many Google products like Gmail and YouTube are accessed using your Google account password.

Computer

 

Changing Google Password

 

  1. Sign in to your Google Account.
  2. Go to Signing in to Google under Security.
  3. Click on Password. You’ll have to sign in again.
  4. Provide and confirm the new password, then click on Change Password.

 

Resetting Google Password

 

  • Go to the Account recovery page and follow the steps for recovering your account. Certain questions will be asked for confirming it’s your account and you will receive an email. If you don’t receive the email:
  • Check the Bulk Mail or Spam folders.
  • Add [email protected] to your contacts.
  • Go through the Account recovery page and follow the steps again for requesting another email.
  • Try all the email addresses used by you for signing up or signing in to your account.
  • Provide a unique password that has not been used before with this account.

 

Android

  2. Go to Google > Google Account.
  3. Switch to Security tab.
  4. Select Password under Signing in to Google section. You’ll have to sign in again.

iPad & iPhone

 

Changing Google Password

 

  1. Open the Gmail app on your iPad or iPhone.
  2. Go to Settings from the Menu and choose your account.
  3. Choose Manage your Google Account.

 

Note: Open myaccount.google.com in case you don’t use Gmail app.

 

  1. Switch to Personal info tab and choose the Password field under the Profile section.  
  2. Provide and confirm the new password, then choose Change Password.
